They pulled a lot of strings and manipulation to get Scarlett right where they want her, and now they're going to throw her deep into the games of their society's initiation rights. The three kings of the school by birthright and power. Neo, Crew, and Jagger are known as the Lawless. Suddenly she finds herself at the same school as her three tormentors, who rule the school. But the torment that started when she was a little girl hasn't let up. Now she's older, and doesn't take any sh*t. The immediate object of dislike from Neo, and his two best friends that followed suit. Growing up, she was the one on the outskirts of the group. This is a tough as nails FMC that isn't afraid to stand up for herself. ![]() Scarlett is a heroine that I immediately liked. “You are a dirty-talking wh*re, you know that?” I carry her back to where she belongs-back pressed to the shelf. ![]() If you worked your fingers inside my p*ssy as well as you do around my neck, I might be coming right now.” ![]() And boy am I glad I did! Because this seriously hit the spot I didn't even know I had. I tried and DNFd several until I somehow landed on a recommendation for this book on my Amazon KU list. I have been desperately looking for an academia, bully, why choose romance that would hit the spot just right. We learn about his life on the streets - the alcohol and drug addiction, the many fights that he got into, the injuries he sustained. The second timeline examines Stuart's history in reverse. He also comments on the book Masters is writing and points out mistakes in it, lending the biography a very meta feel. He is scattered, forgetful and prone to bouts of rage. ![]() But it is clear he is suffering from poor mental health. He has been given a small flat to live in and scrawls in a diary to keep track of the various activities he has planned. Some chapters occur in the present, where Stuart is doing his best to keep things on the straight and narrow. The book has two timelines running through it. The two men became friends and agreed that Alexander should write Stuart's life story. They campaigned together for the release of Ruth Wyner and John Brock: homeless shelter proprietors who were incarcerated when drug-dealing had been unknowingly carried out on their premises.
